James Dean Vanderlee told police that someone had stolen two bicycles from his back porch. One was described as a lime green children's bike. The other was a maroon-colored adult bike. The value for the items was not immediately known.
He also told police that the thief also took 30 pounds of copper piping that was lying in his back yard.
Police are investigating.
DUI Charged After Traffic Stop
Cecil Township police on Sunday charged a Bridgeville man with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police said officers conducted a traffic stop on Morganza Road and Baker after the driver, later identified as Matthew Robert Martin, 33, reportedly failed to stop at a sign at the intersection.
Police said that upon speaking to Martin, officers noted the smell of alcohol emanating from him, and said his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.
Martin reportedly admitted to drinking one beer earlier in the evening, and submitted to a field sobriety test, showing signs of impairment, police said.
Officers placed Martin under arrest for suspicion of DUI and transported him to the Cecil Township Police Department, where a breath test was administered.
That test showed that Martin had a blood-alcohol content of .178 percent—more than twice the legal limit.
