Here are the latest police reports out of Canonsburg.
Woman Charged With Driving Under the Influence
Canonsburg police charged a borough woman with driving under the influence and failure to stop at a traffic light following an incident Friday night.
Police said an officer was monitoring traffic at East Pike Street and Greenside Avenue when they noted a silver Pontiac Grand Am. Police said the driver of the car initially stopped at the light but then proceeded through while it was still red.
Police conducted a traffic stop on Smith Street and approached the vehicle. Officers noted that the driver, identified as Leanna Lee Conte, of East College Street, had bloodshot, glassy eyes. Police said the odor of alcohol emanated from her.
Asked for her license and registration information, police said Conte's movements were "lethargic and clumsy."
Conte reportedly admitted that she had been drinking at a Chartiers Township bar, and was asked to submit to field sobriety tests.
Officers said Conte showed signs of impairment during the tests, which were stopped because police said they feared the woman would fall and injure herself.
Two breath tests were administered—with results of .145 percent and .143 percent respectively.
Charges will proceed by summons, according to police.
