Kitchen Fire Prompts Early Dismissal of Canon-McMillan High School
Superintendent Michael Daniels said there will be an early dismissal for the high school this afternoon because more than 800 students will not be served lunch due to the fire.
Canon-McMillan High School was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a kitchen fire—and the blaze has also prompted an early dismissal, school officials confirm.
Canon-McMillan Superintendent Michael Daniels said the fire was extinguished quickly, and that there were no injuries. No damage to the building was reported.
But while one lunch period was served at the high school, the remaining two lunch periods—attended by more than 800 students—will not be held because the food was contaminated during the fire.
