Canon-McMillan High School Student Honored with Comcast Foundation Scholarship
Congrats to Jacob Brown, who was honored for his leadership skills, academic achievement and commitment to the community.

A Canon-McMillan High School senior—Jacob Brown—was one of five students in Washington County to be awarded a $1,000 scholarship through the Comcast Foundation.
The Comcast Foundation, founded in 1999 to provide charitable support to its local communities, awarded a total of 179 Pennsylvania high school seniors scholarships through its annual Leaders and Achievers program.
This program recognizes students’ leadership skills, academic achievement and commitment to community.
Comcast, joined by Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley and other government officials, recognized Brown and his peers at a special event held Tuesday at the State Museum of Pennsylvania.
“Gov. Tom Corbett joins me in congratulating these gifted students for their outstanding achievements,” Cawley said. “We also commend the Comcast Foundation for its ongoing charitable support of programs like this scholarship.”
