Canon-McMillan High School Team Places Third in Envirothon Competition
The team was just nine points out of first place.

A Canon-McMillan High School team participating in an area Envirothon competition placed third last week.
The team, which was third out of 11 teams, was only nine points out of first place. The competition took place at the Mt. Lebanon and Dormont Sportsman's Club.
The Envirothon is an academic competition that focuses on five major test subjects: wildlife, aquatics, forestry, farming, and soils.

This was Canon-McMillan's first year competing in the Envirothon since the 1980s.
"Our students have been attending practices and studying since January. The test was very vigorous and was about three hours long," high school science teacher Chelsea Geist said.

Geist, along with colleague Sandy Strosko, coached the team.
