Cecil Parks and Recreation Board Mulling How to Use Bequeathed Money

The township received almost $12,000 to use for recreation.

Cecil recently received $11,851 from the estate of a late township woman.

Township Manager Don Gennuso said the money was bequeathed to Cecil from the estate of Geraldine Checca.

He said the township's parks and recreation board is mulling how to use the money—adding that the only requirement is that it be utilized for recreation.

Gennuso said supervisors suggested the money be spent on something "tangible"—perhaps on a project such as a pavilion repair—so that a memorial plaque "thanking Checca for the generous donation" could be featured.

Gennuso said that Checca's late husband, Ted, had long been involved in the township's parks and recreation activities.
