Cecil Police Charge Oakdale Man With DUI, Driving With Suspended License

Cecil Township police on Sunday charged an Oakdale man with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving despite a DUI-related license suspension.

Police said officers stopped a Jeep being driven by Jeffrey Castillo, 28, around 1:10 a.m. Sunday at Millers Run Road and state Route 980, where he reportedly pulled out in front of another vehicle.

When speaking with Castillo, police said they could smell a strong odor of alcohol emanating from him, and officers noted that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.

Officers asked Castillo to perform a field sobriety test, which they said showed impairment.

Castillo was arrested for suspicion of DUI, and taken to the Cecil Township Police Department for a breath test.

Police said that test indicated that he had a blood-alcohol contest of .199 percent—more than twice the legal limit.

Charges will proceed by summons.
