Cecil Police Investigating Copper Theft from Southpointe

Cecil Township police are investigating another theft of copper from an Allegheny Power substation located on Southpointe Boulevard.

The theft was reported Friday morning, police said.

A representative from the substation told officers that someone gained access to the Southpointe site by cutting the fence.

Once in the area, the thief stole 25 copper ground wires, police said.

The value of the stolen copper was not immediately known.
