Commendations and Complaints Dominate Canonsburg Council Meeting
Canon-McMillan's wresting and soccer teams were honored.

For the first 40 minutes of Monday's Canonsburg Council meeting, Mayor David H. Rhome issued multiple commendations to various residents.
For the next 40 minutes, other various residents fired off multiple complaints.
Rhome cited both the Canon-McMillan High School wrestling and soccer teams for their state and WPIAL championships, and also honored the Barbershop Harmony Society upon its 75th anniversary.

Council then heard complaints from residents concerning an inspection ordinance, monitoring of a local club and speeding vehicles on Gladden Road.
Rhome said borough police were "doing all they can do" in monitoring the club on Murdock Street and said the police were continuing to monitor the vehicle speeds on Gladden Road, as well.

Councilman Rich Russo said the new inspection ordinance "would be enforced and fees collected," but emphasized that the purpose of the ordinance was for borough inspection of single- and multi-unit structures upon their sale.
