
An Eighty Four man has announced his candidacy for North Strabane Township supervisor.
Neil Kelly, an independent, submitted nominating papers to the Washington County Department of Elections on Wednesday.
The petition included 60 signatures. Supervisor candidates are required to have 28 in order to be placed in the ballot for the November general election.

“I think voters need choices,” Kelly, a frequent attendee at township meetings, said. “It is time for new people to step up and serve the community.”
Residents will be his primary focus if elected, he said.

The seventh of 10 children, Kelly grew up in the Pittsburgh area and graduated from Duquesne University.
After working for several years at a Washington, D.C.-area computer consulting firm, he became a self-employed consultant serving Fortune 500 companies and government agencies, a release indicated.
Kelly moved to Eighty Four in 2002 after purchasing a horse farm. He has been married to his wife Pam for more than 22 years.
