Morning Crash Stymies Southpointe Boulevard Traffic

While there were no injuries reported, a two-vehicle crash on Southpointe Boulevard Monday morning backed up traffic in the area, Cecil Township police said.

Police said the Mercedes SUV driven by Kristin Simon, of Pittsburgh, flipped on its roof after striking a Chevy sedan being driven by Timothy Crowe, of Monaca just before 6:30 a.m.

Police said Simon told officers that she was getting off the Interstate 79 northbound off ramp, turned left on Southpointe Boulevard and struck Crowe's vehicle.

Both drivers were evaluated by SouthBridge EMS. Neither were transported for medical treatment.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.

Police said no charges would be filed regarding the incident.

In addition to police, Lawrence Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene.
