North Strabane Woman Accused of Stabbing Man Over Argument About Dog to Stand Trial

Chelsea Tinker waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

A North Strabane Township woman accused of stabbing a man following an argument over a dog will stand trial for charges including aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment, according to district Judge Jay Weller's office.

Chelsea Tinker, 23, of 165 Willow St., was charged by North Strabane police on April 16 and waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

According to the criminal complaint, North Strabane police were dispatched to the Canonsburg General Hospital emergency room that night in regard to a man who was receiving treatment for a stab wound to the chest.

The victim stated that he was engaged in an argument over a dog at 165 Willow St. when Tinker allegedly grabbed a knife from the kitchen area and cut him as he attempted to remove the weapon from her, the criminal complaint indicates.

Officers noticed a "large laceration several inches long and several inches wide at the base of (the victim's) neck," according to court records.

Tinker was taken into custody by police on April 24, and arraigned before Weller.

She was remanded to the Washington County Jail after being unable to post a $25,000 bond, although Weller amended that to a $25,000 percentage bond on Tuesday.
