One Democrat, One Republican Running for North Strabane Supervisor

A two-year term and six-year term on the board are open.

One Democrat incumbent and one Republican who was formerly a supervisor are running for board seats in North Strabane Township this year.

Current board chairman Steve Motzer, who's six-year term will be up at the end of 2013, is not seeking re-election.

That means that both a two-year term and a six-year term will be up for grabs in the November 2013 general election.

Supervisor Bill Brooks, a retired General Electric employee, is seeking the Democratic nomination for both seats in the May 21 primary, while former supervisor Rob Balogh, a network administrator, is seeking the Republican nomination for both seats.

After losing a bid for re-election in the last municipal election, Brooks was appointed to fill the supervisor seat vacated when Greg Sulc resigned to take the position of township parks and recreation director.
