UPDATED: Bystanders Lifted Truck Off Ejected Driver After Cecil Crash
First responders said the man suffered serious injuries during the crash Friday morning.

Bystanders to a one-vehicle crash helped lift a pickup truck off of a driver who was ejected and trapped underneath it Friday morning, emergency responders who were at the scene confirm.
Police said the man, Jayson Darnley, 21, of McDonald, suffered severe torso and back injuries. He was transported to UPMC-Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, where a spokeswoman said he was in critical condition.

The crash in Cecil Township Friday happened around 10:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of state Route 980 between Janey and Vincenty roads, according to first responders.
Police said Darnley was traveling north on state Route 980 when he lost control of his truck while negotiating a curve. He was ejected when the truck traveled up an embankment, and was pinned beneath the vehicle, which had overturned and landed on him.

Passing motorists flipped the truck off of him, police said.
First responders said a medical helicopter was initially called for but then canceled.
Muse Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash. That crew was assisted by Cecil Township Volunteer Fire Department, McDonald Volunteer Fire Department, SouthBridge EMS and Fort Cherry Ambulance Service.
