Blotter: Public Urination Charged, Criminal Mischief Reported and Resident Cited for Texting and Driving

Here are the latest police reports from Canonsburg.

A Canonsburg woman called borough police Saturday afternoon to report that a man was urinated on the sidewalk outside her Murdock Street home.

When police arrived at the residence of Allison Gohring, the man had already left.

However, officers encountered him along South Jefferson Avenue in front of Big Mac Stadium.

The man, William Quinn, reportedly told police, "that he really had to go and could not hold it anymore so he just went."

Police said Quinn will be charged with public urination and public drunkenness.

The charges will proceed by summons.

Man Cited for Texting While Driving

Police cited a borough man with texting while driving Sunday afternoon.

According to a police report, officers were monitoring a speed trap around 3 p.m. Sunday when they noted a man reading his text messages while driving on First Street near Highland Avenue.

"I pulled out behind the male and followed him for approximately half a mile, observing the male to be reading his cell phone," the police report indicated. "I observed the male to be holding the cell phone in his right hand, his thumb on the phone, his head looking to the right toward the phone."

The man, David Geidel, of 3 Breezewood Dr., was issued a citation.

Theft Reported from Blaine Avenue Home

Joe Flaherty, of 419 Blaine Ave., told police on Saturday afternoon that someone had pried open a lock box inside his home, removing $76 in various coins, as well as a $2 bill.

He said the last time he had accessed the lock box was March 2.

Vehicle Damaged

Steven Robert Wolf, of 12 N. Jefferson Ave., told police on Friday morning that someone had keyed his car.

Criminal Mischief Reported

Tina Spencer told police Friday morning told police that her father's vehicle had been egged "on a regular basis" as it sat outside his Smithfield Street home.

She said that most recently, someone had shot paintballs at the vehicle.
