Police Charging Middle School Student After Alleged Theft, Threat Against Teacher

The student allegedly stole a set of master keys and threatened a Canonsburg Middle School teacher.

Canonsburg police are charging a Canonsburg Middle School student with theft and making terroristic threats after he allegedly stole a master set of keys from the building and told a therapist that he wanted to kill a teacher there.

Police were initially notified of the theft on Wednesday, but school officials said the 13-year-old boy's parents had been contacted and that they had promised the keys would be returned.

School officials told police at that point that the issue would be handled internally.

However, police were called later in the week by a district administrator, who told officers that the boy's therapist had informed the school that he had admitted in a session that he wanted to commit a homicide.

The therapist also indicated that the boy said he wanted to kill a teacher at the school.
