Preliminary Hearing Set for North Strabane Man Charged With Indecent Assault of Girl

Richard George Crowley was arraigned this week and released on his own recognizance.

North Strabane police charged a township man this week with endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and three counts of indecent assault of a person younger than 13.

Online court records indicate the charges against Richard George Crowley, 61, date back to June 1, 2012 and were filed Monday.

All of the charges are felonies.

According to the Observer-Reporter, Crowely is accused of inappropriate contact with a 7-year-old girl.

Crowley was arraigned Tuesday before district Judge Jay Weller, who released the man on his own recognizance. The Observer-Reporter indicated Crowley was ordered to have no contact with children.

He is set to appear before Weller for a preliminary hearing at 11 a.m. April 29
