Theft Reported from Southpointe Work Site

Someone stole wire and a $5,000 piece of equipment.

Cecil Township police said someone stole thousands of feet of copper wire, as well as a welding machine, from a work site in Southpointe earlier this month.

Police said someone cut the padlock off a rear door of a trailer at a work site located at 200 Woodcliff Drive and stole thousands of feet of copper.

Also stolen from the site was a welding machine that was situated on a trailer and parked in the front lot of the site.

The 2010 Lincoln Model Ranger 250 GXT weighed about 600 pounds and was valued at more than $5,000, police said.

A manager at the site told Cecil police that the theft of the machine happened sometime after 9 p.m. April 1.
