United Way Washington County to Unveil Volunteer Awards in Canonsburg in May

The nonprofit will also announce its final campaign total for 2012-13 at the luncheon at Bella Sera May 16.

The United Way of Washington County will announce its Volunteer Awards, Campaign Awards and final campaign total for 2012-13 at its annual Campaign Celebration and Awards luncheon May 16th at Bella Sera in Canonsburg.

United Way President Barbara Murphy will present the following volunteer awards:

  • The Liza N. Beale Loyal Contributors Award recognizes a person who has been a United Way supporter for more than 10 years.
  • The Alvin C. Janovich Community Leadership Award recognizes a company’s support of local non-profit agencies and causes.
  • The Clyde J. Tracanna Community Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes an individual’s outstanding community volunteerism.
  • The M. Kathleen Ramsey Student Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a Washington County high school senior. The award comes with a $1,000 scholarship in memory of Dr. Howard Jack.

In addition to the volunteer awards, Campaign Chairman John Applegath, vice president of the Southern Marcellus Shale Division of Range Resources of Southpointe, will present special recognition awards to local businesses that participated in the United Way’s 2012-13 campaign.

The luncheon begins at noon May 16th at Bella Sera in Canonsburg.
