Chartiers Valley High School Holiday Tree Delivers a Different Message

Chartiers Valley High School featuring a holiday tree dedicated to DUI awareness.

The Chartiers Valley High School is doing its part during this holiday season to raise awareness against driving under the influence.

The Allegheny County Pretrial Services, in conjunction with AAA East Central, PennDOT District 11 and Chartiers Valley High School’s Students Against Destructive Decisions chapter, is sponsoring and helped organize the school’s DUI dedication tree, according to TribLive.com. The tree, while featuring as much holiday spirit and decorations as one would normally expect to see, is dedicated to raising awareness about DUI in Allegheny County.

The Students Against Destructive Decisions group hopes the tree will help inform other students of the dangers of driving under the influence. The group was named the National 2014 Chapter of the Year for being the most effective, Trib Live reports.
