Chartiers Valley School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Chartiers Valley is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Chartiers Valley School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/28 - 8/31: Teachers' Professional Development Day

September

• 9/1: Teachers' Professional Development Day
• 9/5: First Day of School for Students
• 9/5 - 9/12: K-5 Half Day (Act 80)

November

• 11/1: 2-Hour Delay (Act 80, Teacher Meetings)
• 11/3: End of Report Period
• 11/6 - 11/7: No School for Students (Teachers' Professional Development, Act 80, Parent Conferences)
• 11/23 - 11/27: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/25 - 12/31: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/2: No School (Winter Recess)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/25: End of Report Period
• 1/29: Half Day for Students (Teachers' Professional Development)

February

• 2/5: 2-Hour Delay for Students (Act 80 Teacher Meetings)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/29 - 3/31: No School (Spring Recess)

April

• 4/1 - 4/2: No School (Spring Recess)
