Fireworks, Music, German Food Highlight Heidelberg Oktoberfest

The schedule for Heidelberg's Oktoberfest celebration, Sept. 28, 2013.

Oktoberfest is this Saturday, Sept. 28 in Heidelberg Borough, and the borough has released schedules of events, lists of vendors and more information about the event.

Oktoberfest is from 1 to 8 p.m. at Heidelberg Park on Industry Way.

MUSIC

  • 1 to 2 p.m.: Karl Lukitsch & Autobahn
  • 2 to 3 p.m.: Don Wojtila Polka Band
  • 3 to 4 p.m.: Mansfield 5
  • 4 to 5 p.m.: Karl Lukitsch & Autobahn
  • 5 to 6 p.m.: Don Wojtila Polka Band
  • 6 to 7 p.m.: Mansfield 5
  • 7 to 8 p.m.: Mansfield 5 with Carl Stocker

Musician Helen Matlak will be playing during the festival as well.

ACTIVITIES

Children's activities will be held all day, including a petting zoo; Bounce House and Air Slide; Softball Pitch; and Lowe’s Kid’s Workshop.

  • 1 to 4 p.m.: Shriners Clowns
  • 3 to 5 p.m.: Children’s Pumpkin Patch and Painting
  • 4 to 7 p.m.: Billy Heh – Strolling Magician / Balloon Artist

CRAFT VENDORS and OTHER EVENTS

  • German name translations and meanings.
  • A 50/50 raffle, a Chinese auction, lottery tickets and special raffles.
  • Oktoberfest t-shirts for sale.
  • Zambelli Fireworks display at 8 p.m.

FOOD VENDORS

  • German Foods:  Bratwurst, German Potato Salad, Potato Pancakes, Hot Pretzels.
  • Polish Favorites: Heidelberg VFD Pierogies, Kielbasa Sandwiches, Halushki.
  • American & Other Favorites: Chicken Tenders, French Fries, Sloppy Joes, Gyros, Pepperoni Rolls, Pizza, Wings, Hot Sausage, Hot Dogs, Meatball Sandwiches, Nachos, Teriyaki, Corndogs, Egg Rolls.
  • Desserts: Bake Sale, Candy Apples, Ice Cream, Cotton Candy, Floats, Apple Dumplings, Kettle Korn, Sno-Kones.
  • Bier:  Pauliner Oktoberfest, Miller Light, Miller High Life.  Non-alcoholic: Pop, Water, Lemonade, Apple Cider.

PARKING

  • Lot 1 – Heidelberg VFD – Zero Street. Free Hay Ride Shuttles to Oktoberfest will be provided.
  • Lot 2 – Petroleum Pipe Co, Industry Way.
  • Lot 3 – Collier Foundations, Industry Way.
  • Lot 4 – Handicapped Parking in front of Heidelberg Park.

On-street parking will be allowed throughout the borough; however, no parking will be allowed on Industry Way and Jackson Street between Grant and Industry Way.
