Chestnut Hill Is Philly Region's 4th Most Expensive Neighborhood

The average sale price in Chestnut Hill in 2018 was $799,619 million, making it the 4th most expensive Philly neighborhood to buy a home.

CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA — There are many obvious perks to living in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia. To enjoy them, you'll pay a hefty price.

Chestnut Hill is now the region's fourth most expensive place to purchase a home. That's according to an analysis by Philadelphia Magazine, which lists the Philadelphia region's 50 most expensive neighborhoods for home purchases.

The average home purchase price in Chestnut Hill in 2018 was $799,619 — up 13 percent from the year before.

Rittenhouse was listed as the sixth most expensive, as the average price in 2018 was $754,628. Center City West's average 2018 price was $684,549, earning it the No. 12 spot.

Old City/Society Hill was No. 22 with an average price of $595,268, Bella Vista/Queen Village was No. 43 with an average price of $493,668 and Northern Liberties was No. 44 with a $492,001 average.

Villanova was listed as the area's most expensive, with an average price in 2018 of $1,125,280
