On the Border: Good Eats in NJ

Living in Phillipsburg, there is a lot of overlap between here and Easton. While I find myself hopping over the border for some great eats like Ashley’s Signature Restaurant, Daddy’s Place, 3rd Ferry Fish Market, La Perla Tapatia, and many more, there are some great finds that are just over the border in NJ to check out.

Ice Cream Junction

FANTASTIC ice cream and friendly staff too. They are open until 9pm which is perfect for after dinner ice cream cravings no matter the time of year. Word of warning-the establishment is cash only! There are a variety of flavors to choose from for Italian ice and regular ice cream. I’m always a sucker for brownies in chocolate ice cream because there really is no such thing as too much chocolate. While you may not be able to order this from DoorDash or GrubHub, you won’t regret making the trip!

SoMa Downtown Grill

This restaurant is right at the border, you could even see Easton from the deck! The menu has some great classics and mouthwatering specials. I had a large pretzel with a beer/cheese dip was definitely worth the extra calories. You can get grilled steak or some fried chicken which is great for indecisive types like myself. They host local musicians for live music which is always fun for a night out! With yummy cocktails while looking over the beautiful view, it’s the perfect spot to watch fireworks or relax after a long week. Or, if you’re like me and you end up spending weekends relaxing at home and not wanting to move, you can order through DoorDash and have this deliciousness delivered to your door!

Brass Rail Restaurant and Bar

Three words: Mozzarella. Cheese. Moons. This appetizer was no joke and the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich was amazing. The food is great quality and definitely has me interested in trying just about everything on the menu from pizza and burgers to the quesadillas. Another great feature about this restaurant is that it too can be delivered right to your door-such luxury! Then you can eat some delicious friend melted cheese on your couch instead of around strangers.
