City of Easton: Easton Farmers' Market Winter Edition Kicks Off This Saturday 1/9 - 10 Am - Noon

Good news for those focusing on eating fresh, healthy veggies and fruits: Winter Market from Easton Farmers’ Market will now be weekly instead of every other week. The ninth season of the market kicks off on Saturday, Jan. 9.

The Winter Market will operate 10 a.m. to noon every Saturday (January-April) on Church Street behind the Easton Public Market. Social distancing and mask requirements will remain in place, and the Winter Market will allow customers to shop for local food in an open-air environment.

Winter Mart will feature nine vendors who will offer fresh, local options, including;

● Apple Ridge Farm – sourdough bread, baked goods, pot pies, pastured pork, bone broth, winter soups and more

● AquaSprout Farm – Aquaponically-grown butter head lettuce, summer crisp lettuce, baby romaine, curly kale, swiss chard, cherry tomatoes, basil, arugula and micro greens

● Breakaway Farms – pasture-raised beef, pork, chicken, eggs, sausages and other specialty meat items

● Flour Shop Bakery – breads, pastries, cookies and savory crostini

● Haven Farmstead Table – hand-crafted cheeses

● Jersey Pickles – pickles, olives and other fermented treats

● Primordia Mushroom Farm – fresh mushrooms

● Salvaterra’s Gardens – greens, root veggies, jarred items

● Scholl Orchards – apples, pears, root veggies, winter squash, jarred butters, vinegar, hot sauce, pasta sauce & ketchup

Winter Market vendors, as well as the Highmark Farmstand inside Easton Public Market, will continue to welcome Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) users. Thanks to a USDA grant distributed to Buy Fresh Buy Local of the Greater Lehigh Valley, both Winter Market and the Highmark Farmstand are able to offer a fresh food match (up to $10 per day) to stretch the dollars available for fresh fruits and vegetables. SNAP users should stop by the Info Tent to get their tokens prior to shopping the market.

Pop-up vendors featured throughout the season. This year, the EFM Winter Warriors Program will reward those who attend every Saturday in a month with a free gift at the end of the month. Customers can sign in at the Info Booth every Saturday to participate.
