Easton, P'Burg Police Chase Accused Minivan Thief

Easton police say officers from the city and Phillipsburg joined forces Wednesday night in pursuit of a man driving a suspected stolen van.

Danny Bulger, 50, of Phillipsburg, was charged with theft, fleeing and eluding, reckless endangerment and traffic offenses.

According to police, an officer spotted Bulger speeding along the 600 block of Walnut Street around 10:08 p.m. The van Bulger was driving had been reported stolen in New Jersey, police said.

Bulger allegedly drove through the city and across the Free Bridge into Phillipsburg. Phillipsburg police joined in the pursuit and took Bulger into custody after stopping him on Mercer Street.

Police say the van was returned to its owner without any damage. Bulger was sent to Warren County Jail.
