Forks YMCA Education Center to Hold Third Annual 5K
Money raised helps provide opportunities for children to participate in quality educational programming that will create a strong start.
The Forks YMCA Education Center, A branch of the Greater Valley YMCA, is hosting its third annual ABC, Race for Me 5K and Youth One Mile Fun Run in conjunction with Forks Community Days on September 16, 2017, at the Forks Township Community Park.
Adults who wish to participate in the 5K may sign up for free childcare during the 5K, provided by Forks YMCA Education Center staff. Childcare activities include face painting and crafts during the 5K.
There will also be a Youth One Mile Fun Run with a zany obstacle course. Every youth gets a medal and all pre-registered youth will receive a pair of YMCA sunglasses.

The YMCA is a charitable, non-profit organization with a mission to support youth development, healthy living and social responsibility positively impacting the community. Your participation will provide opportunities for children to participate in quality educational programming that will create a strong start in building a firm foundation for success in school and throughout life.
Their educational programs serve over 200 children on a daily basis to include: Infant/Toddler/Preschool Early Childhood Education, Pre-K Counts Program for at-risk three and four year olds, Full and Half Day Kindergarten, Before and After School Programs, Summer Camps and Enrichment Programs, all supporting youth development with a strong focus on family engagement.

Packet pick-up at Forks Township Community Park begins at 7:15 am on the day of the race. The 5K begins at 8:30 am. The race is professionally timed. Awards will be given to the first place overall male and female runners and the top three male and female runners in each age category. Age categories are 8-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. The 5K begins and ends in scenic Forks Township Community Park. The race is rain or shine. Fees are not refundable and bibs are non-transferable. Youth One Mile Fun Run begins at 9:30 am. To register please go to www.active.com and type ABC, Race for Me the search bar.
