Forks YMCA Education Center Showcases Children’s Artwork During Annual Art Show

Art is auctioned off to raise money for the center's scholarship program.

The Forks YMCA Education Center’s annual art show is taking place on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. This year’s theme is “A Night at the Museum” and the children will be displaying the works they created in the gymnasium at the Family YMCA of Easton at 1225 West Lafayette Street. Children, from birth through fifth grade, work year round with their classroom teachers to create art based on a theme.

The pieces that the young artists created will be on display and auctioned off to raise money for scholarships. The Y promise is that no child is turned away due to an inability to pay. Charitable support helps the Y keep this promise. When a child makes, looks at, and talks about art and the artwork of others they gain valuable skills. The art show was created to infuse the arts more fully into the early childhood education curriculum.

Light refreshments will be served.
