Nevin Park Fountain Project Gets $5K Gift
Northampton County gives College Hill Neighborhood Association funding to help put in new fountain at Nevin Park.

The people who want to bring back the fountain at Easton's Nevin Park have gotten an early Christmas present.
Northampton County has given the project $5,000 from its contingency fund, said county Councilman Bob Werner, who represents the city. He presented the group with a check Thursday afternoon.
Nevin Park, on College Hill, had a fountain from 1899 into the 1920s, when the city removed it with plans to refurbish it. That restoration never happened, and the fountain was melted for scrap during World War II.
Now the College Hill Neighborhood Association wants to put a new fountain in the park, a project that could cost up to $205,000.Â
