As many of you all know, we have developed a new seminar for teachers, administrators and faculty members within the school districts. The seminar is approximately 60 minutes in length and explains the opioid epidemic we are facing here in PA and nationwide. I am looking to see if anyone can provide assistance to help us roll this seminar out to the school districts. Schools who have participated in the past either scheduled it during in-service days or as a replacement to their monthly or quarterly staff meetings.
The seminar overviews the current trends we are seeing in PA related to opioid addictions and how these trends affect the school district. The seminar also focuses on how to recognize potential signs and symptoms of an opioid addiction and steps school personnel can take to assist those who may need help. Overall, the seminar is designed to not only help with the participants role within the school setting but also with potential interactions within their personal lives as well.As with all of our courses and services here at Counterdrug, this is also free of charge.
If any of you have contacts within the school districts, I ask that you pass this along to them or send me their contact information and I can reach out to them. I have attached a copy of the course information for your reference. Thank you all in advance for helping us get this new initiative off the ground and this pertinent information into the hands of those who are teaching our future generations.
