Shirley A. Beasley, 84, Great-Grandmother, Avid Reader

Shirley A. Beasley, formerly of Easton, died Friday at 84.

Shirley A. Beasley, 84, formerly of Easton, passed away Friday, December 20 in Gracedale.

Born October 18, 1929, in Grand Gorge, NY, she was a daughter of the late James and Agnes Pasch Black.

Her husband of 62 years, Edward A. Beasley, Jr. died January 27, 2011.

Shirley graduated from Easton Catholic High School. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and trips to Atlantic City.

Shirley was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, formerly St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Sciascia, of Lexington, KY and Justine Whitehouse and her husband Sam, of Wexford, PA; two brothers, William and Joseph Black, both of Easton; two grandsons, Aaron Sciascia and his wife Traci, of Richmond, KY and Brendan Whitehouse, of Wexford, PA; and a great-granddaughter, Payton Sciascia.  She was predeceased by a brother, James Black.

A memorial service will be held at 10am Friday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough.  Call Friday 9-10am in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.  Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
