East Penn Congratulates 2014 National Merit Semifinalists
Three female and two male Emmaus High School students have achieved semifinalist status in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship competition.

East Penn School District recently honored its 2014 National Merit Scholarship competition semifinalists with a reception at Emmaus High School, followed by public commendation at an East Penn School Board meeting.
"We take our hats off to you and your parents," said East Penn Superintendent of Schools Thomas L. Seidenberger in his introduction of the five award-winners at the Oct. 28 board meeting.
He then thanked the students for "accepting a challenging future," quipping that 4 1/2 of the five told him that they had selected careers in math and science. Nine of the 11 National Merit Semifinalists from 2013 are pursing math and science-related fields, he said.
The EHS National Merit Semifinalists for 2014 are:
- Alan Bebout
- Robert J. Bishop
