Emmaus Man Sentenced to State Prison For Involuntary Manslaughter
Alexander Roscioli will serve one to five years for the fatal beating of his elderly neighbor.

23 year old Emmaus resident Alexander Roscioli was sentenced Wednesday for the fatal beating of his 70-year old neighbor, John Sweeney. Poscioli faces one to five years in state prison for involuntary manslaughter.
Roscioli and Sweeney lived in the same apartment complex and reportedly argued over music and noise complaints repeatedly.
According to the Express-Times, Roscioli went to “bury the hatchet” on the evening of August 20, 2013, but they argued and Sweeney started hitting Sweeney repeatedly with a hockey stick.

“He acted under a strong provocation,” said defense attorney John Waldron.
Roscioli had a prior record of retail theft and harassments. He said that he plans to study nursing at Cedar Crest College after serving his sentence. He hopes to “become a new person.”
