League of Women Voters for Hosting Running for Local Office Workshop

Thinking of running for local office? This workshop could provide you with useful information on how to do just that.

For many, running for local office can be a daunting task. If you’re thinking of taking on that challenge, the League of Women Voters of Lehigh and Northampton counties are hosting a “Running for Local Office” workshop next month.

The workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Gates Center, Alumni Hall Building, located at Northampton Community College, 3835 Green Pond Road, in Bethlehem.

According to the League of Women Voters of Lehigh and Northampton counties, the ”Running for Local Office” workshop is designed to give someone thinking of running for local office, or working on a campaign, an understanding of how to qualify and run. The workshop will provide those in attendance with a chance to learn how to start, organize and manage a campaign, do the legal paperwork, work with a committee and work withthe press, the LWV said.

The cost of attendance to the workshop is $45, and includes a workbook in which participants will receive that includes practical details on running political campaigns.
