Lehigh Holidays: Six Holiday Related Events To Attend This Week

Streets aglow with Christmas decorations and a historic tour of Bethlehem are just a couple of things to do in Lehigh Valley this week.

Bethlehem was recently named the “Most Amazing Christmas Town in America” by Impulicty.com and the rest of the Lehigh Valley is not far behind. Here is a list of a few holiday-related things to do this week and this weekend in Lehigh Valley!

  • Christmas City Stroll - Candlelight Walking Tour: Take a tour through Historic Bethlehem on this daily candlelit walking tour with expert guides in period dress. Learn about the foundation of Bethlehem in the 1740s and numerous other historic highlights at Historic Bethlehem Visitor’s Center, located at 505 Main St., Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
  • Winter Light Spectacular: Stroll through the Lehigh Valley Zoo and gaze at the thousands of lights and animated displays lighting the zoo’s tree-lined paths. Visit the Lehigh Valley Zoo, located at 5150 Game Preserve Road, North Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
  • Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem: Celebrate the holidays and 20 years of holiday fun with the Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem each weekend, beginning on Thursday. The Christkindlmarkt features a mix of unique gift ideas, old-world charm and holiday cheer, located in Historic Downtown Bethlehem and ArtsQuest on Bethlehem’s South Side.
  • Tree Lighting in Tranquility Park: Attend a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in this South Bethlehem park on Friday, Dec. 12, at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony includes caroling and free hot cocoa and cookies. Tranquility Park is located at 727 E. Fourth St.
  • Christmas in Nazareth: Visit Nazareth Borough on between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Dec. 13 for a community-wide celebration, including food, arts and crafts, a meeting with Santa Claus and more!
  • Ceremonial Wreath Laying on Veterans’ Graves: Wreaths Across America will lay wreaths of remembrance at the headstones of fallen veterans honoring their service in the United States armed forces. Attend this event in honor of our veterans on Dec. 13, at noon at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, located at 1700 Airport Road, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
