Perk Up Half Marathon

The Perk Up Half Marathon is a challenging and scenic race to benefit the Easter PA Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation.

The Perk Up Half Marathon is a chipped timed, challenging course combining rolling hills and beautiful scenery in the Upper Perkiomen Valley. Proceeds from the run benefit the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation. What is hemophilia? It is a genetic bleeding disorder that prevents the blood from clotting normally. There is no cure. Treatment involves injections of medication multiple times per week beginning from birth. Hemophilia treatment is among the most expensive in the world with a total annual cost per patient ranging from $60,000 to as much as $1,000,000 for some patients. Where does the money go? Research grants; Patient services, including MedicAlert bracelets and protective clothing for children, such as comfy caps to prevent brain bleeds; Camp opportunities for children; Educational programs and events. Awards: Overall M &F, Master M & F, + top 3 M & F in each of the following age groups: 17 and under, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. Cost: $60 until 6/15; $65 until 7/15; $70 until 8/16; $80 race day (cash or check only). Registration fee includes entry to the race, finisher’s medal, tech shirt, beverages, food and entertainment. Tech shirts only guaranteed for runners registered by August 1st. Packet pick-up will take place at The Perkiomen School in the Schumo Academic Center race day between 5 AM to 7 AM.
