WEATHER ALERT: Snow, Freezing Rain May Affect Thursday Evening Commute

The National Weather Service says to expect some more snow Thursday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the region, including Lehigh and Northampton counties.

According to the hazardous weather outlook, a light snowfall may be coming Thursday night, making for hazardous travel conditions.

The Lehigh Valley could see between 1 and 2 inches of snow on Thursday night and a slight chance of snow before 1 p.m. on Friday, according to the NWS. Additionally, winds are expected to be blustery, between 15 and 23 mph, on Friday.

The NWS said there is a chance of snow on Sunday night into Monday, but it’s still too early for snowfall predictions or confirmation on whether or not the storm will make it to the region.

  • Thursday Afternoon: A slight chance of snow after 4 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Southeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
  • Thursday Night: Snow, mainly before midnight. Low around 27. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
  • Friday: A slight chance of snow before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 30. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
  • Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 7. Wind chill values as low as -6. Blustery, with a northwest wind 16 to 22 mph.
