Back to School: First Day, Football and Orientation

August is here, and that means it's time to get ready to go back to school. Here are 5 things you should know if you're in the Woodland Hills School District.

1. The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 26. A district calendar has been attached to this article.

2. Kindergarten orientation is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 23. This is the first day of school for kindergarten students, and they are not to report to class on Aug. 26.

3. Football season begins this month—The Wolverines will have scrimmage games on Aug. 17 and 23. The first regular game of the season against Upper St. Clair will be played at the Wolvarena in Turtle Creek on Aug. 30. 

4. Open Houses have been scheduled for the end of September. All elementary schools will have Open House on Sept. 23; the Woodland Hills Academy's will be on Sept. 24; the junior high will be on Sept. 25; and the high school and Promise will be on Sept. 26.
