Inbound Fort Pitt Tunnel Closure This Weekend
Tunnel restrictions will be in place this weekend as workers replace the tunnel's ceiling.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced the inbound (eastbound) Fort Pitt Tunnel on the Parkway West will be closed this weekend so tunnel ceiling removal work can be completed.
Beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, the inbound tunnel will be closed until 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, for round-the-clock construction, PennDOT said in a press release. Traffic will be detoured during the closure and the DOT will be posting signs informing motorists of the detour.
According to PennDOT, the posted detour will require eastbound traffic to form a single lane exiting at the North US 19/Route 51 West End (Exit 69C) ramp before the Fort Pitt Tunnel.
