Local Author Speaking at Virtual Anime Con on August 1st

Horror-fantasy author Wendelin Gray will speak on Japanese culture

Some of the major anime cons across the US have gone virtual this year, and local independent scholar and fiction author Wendelin Gray scored a few coveted slots at an event this weekend. Otakon Online 2020 will have a full, multi-channel day of free programming on Saturday, August 1st, so be sure to look for that at a computer near you.

Gray’s presentation on “The Ainu: The indigenous people of Japan” will run at 10:00 AM EST, and her presentation on the minds and studio behind the “Godzilla” franchise will run at 4:30 PM EST.

Gray is an indie author from Pittsburgh known for her Asian-themed horror-fantasy novels, including the acclaimed Lucky Cat Series and the award-winning gothic horror novel The Haunting at Ice Pine Peak. Formerly with Silk Screen Asian Arts Organization, she is fluent in three Asian languages and blogs about the region.
