Lottery Officials: Powerball Jackpot Rises to $485 Million

The Powerball jackpot is currently at its third-highest total on record.

After Saturday’s Powerball drawing did not provide a jackpot winner, the jackpot for the Wednesday, Feb. 11, drawing has increased to $485 million, according to lottery officials.

The jackpot jumped from Saturday’s figure of $450 million annuity value to $485 million thanks to “brisk ticket sales” after Saturday’s drawing failed to produce a winner, the Pennsylvania Lottery said. Powerball and Power Play tickets were selling at a rate of about 2,300 tickets per-minute in the state of Pennsylvania, according to lottery officials.

The annuity value is $485 million, or a $327.7 million cash prize, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery. If won, the current Powerball jackpot would rank as the third-largest Powerball payout, lottery officials said.
