Police: CMU Student, Alumnus Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide
Pittsburgh Police are reporting an apparent murder-suicide in Oakland.

A man and woman have been found dead of an apparent murder-suicide in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, according to Pittsburgh Police.
Pittsburgh Police assisted a property manager with a “check on the well-being” call at 230 N. Craig Street at 2 p.m. Wednesday and discovered the victim and suspect. Police identified the female victim as Chalalai Chaihirunkarn, 26, a Ph.D. student at Carnegie-Mellon University, in the bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest. The suspect has been identified as Bryan Springer, 29, who appeared to have died from a gunshot wound to the head, Pittsburgh Police reported.
Police said there did not appear to be any signs of a struggle.

Friends of two said the couple’s relationship was troubled, according to police.
