Breaking: Wind Creek Pa. Or Atlantic City NJ Tie For Worse Casino

Wind Creek Pa Casino , is one of the dirtiest ,unfriendly and poorly run casinos this reporter has ever seen . I will never ever be back !

(Reporter calls out casinos for post Cov-19 high pricing and little customer service . )

In visiting several hotels around the world , one has to ask . How is Wind Creek Bethlehem able to survive with such poor staff and little basic amenities . In post pandemic most businesses are working overtime to just pay the bills . The East Coast is in a free fall , and the Wind Creek Bethlehem staff doesn't get it . The only reason Wind Creek Bethlehem scraped by not being the worse customer experience casino . Is the ridiculous high crime and inflated prices of AC . I won't be visiting again anytime soon .

ATLANTIC CITY NJ Wins...........................

When the residents of New Jersey voted to legalize gambling in 1976 and the first casino opened in 1978, Atlantic City was touted as the new source of big tax dollars that would be used to finance various projects to benefit the state and its citizens. The people of South Jersey are still waiting for the civic windfalls, and just like the ever-elusive inside straight, it hasn't materialized.
A city that should be paved over several times in gold instead has a cluster of run-down motels, an out-sized homeless populace, a large drug-addict community, and more crime than most U.S. cities of its size and population.
This is all within three blocks of the famous Golden Nugget and Hard Rock Casinos. Atlantic City has had billions in cash income every year for almost 40 years and yet it is still a 'sewer city' as this new 2020 decade gets underway.
Rather than deal with those difficult issues head-on, the county and surrounding cities have dumped their undesirable populations in and around Atlantic City with the hopes that the lost will just get lost.
They installed many centers for free programs for the selected recipients, with state and county agencies still full to the tipping point as this new year kicks off. But those social programs are not for all of the citizens. No, you must fit into one of the categories to obtain these benefits for free including: Housing, Food, Cell Phones, Health Care, Car Insurance and more.

CRIME IN A.C.

News stories about crime 'being down in AC' are always questioned by the populace at large because the police don't seem to always be accurate on crime reporting. Everyone knows that high crime statistics hurt tourism and go against the city's attempts at a shiny reputation.
The city continues to overlook the inadequate night lighting that makes the areas in front of the casinos robbery heaven .

The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) was founded in 1984 and is responsible for directing the spending of casino reinvestment funds in public and private projects to benefit Atlantic City and other areas of the state. From 1985 through April 2008, CRDA spent US$1.5 billion on projects in Atlantic City and US$300 million throughout New Jersey.
However, anytime an organization responsible for large amounts of funds begins to "absorb" other smaller non-profit, civic-minded organizations, Joe Public finally looks up from his newspaper or i-Phone and asks, "What the hell is going on here?" And, "Where is all that money going?"
In 2011, the CRDA 'absorbed' the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA), which was responsible for increasing tourism through promoting conventions and leisure tourism.
Also in 2011, the CRDA gobbled up the Atlantic City Special Improvement District (SID), which was a nonprofit organization created in 1992 and funded by a special assessment tax on businesses within the improvement district. It carried out various activities to improve the city's business community, including street cleaning and promotional efforts.
It's also interesting to note that in the same year – 2011 -- there were a total of 20,001 registered voters in Atlantic City, of which 12,063 (60.3%) were registered Democrats, and 1,542 (7.7% ) were registered Republicans, while 6,392 (32.0% ) were registered as Unaffiliated. Sounds like a buyout to me.
With the boardwalk and most casinos in A.C. looking as Dumpty as Humpty, its hard to feel sorry for them. They charge exorbitant prices and gouge tourists and local visitors simply because a hotel can do so is ridiculous. It appears that each casino/hotel adds extra charges that they justify through destination fees, resort fees, and let's not forget about the $13.63 state and city tax.
For example, look at the Tropicana sometimes charging many times the normal rate for a traditional $79.00 room. Tropicana simply joins the other hotels in the rip-off game because the visitor traffic will bear it. It's a shame – a sham – and should not be tolerated.

Lets face it – Atlantic City is a freak show.
In a city with 383 streets and more than 165 registered sex offenders in a small city, the people say that Atlantic City needs to get its act together.
And to the Acting Mayor, Marty Small Sr., who succeeded Frank M. Gilliam Jr. following his resignation, the people of New Jersey say: You are not getting elected this year, or any other year. Resign now and let an honest woman take over.
It may be a big gamble, but then again, this is Atlantic City. ... You be the judge ......
