Fire Tears Through Lower Saucon Garage

A fire destroyed a two-car garage in a Lower Saucon home Monday morning.

A two-alarm house fire was reported in Lower Saucon shortly after 4 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 4:05 a.m. at 1509 Higland Drive, according to The Express-Times. All residents inside the home were able to escape safely.

The fire broke out in an attached two-car garage, The Express-Times said. The garage was destroyed and the house suffered smoke damage, the newspaper said. The fire started in, and was contained to, the garage.

Authorities said the fire appears to have been accidental, The Express-Times reported. Officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.

The Red Cross was on the scene providing clothing and temporary shelter for the residents. No residents or firefighters were harmed during the fire.
