Lower Saucon Roads Cleaner Thanks to Adopt-a-Road Program
Since 2010, Lower Saucon Township Adopt-a-Road volunteers have devoted more than 300 hours of their time to remove 568 bags of trash and assorted tires, furniture, car parts and discarded electronics from their adopted roads.

Lower Saucon Township's volunteer-based Adopt-a-Road Program recently concluded its fourth year of service, township officials reported in a news release.
The program got underway in 2010 with four organizations "adopting" township roads by promising to help keep them free of litter.
According to the release, the Adopt-a-Road Program now has 22 Saucon Valley area organizations, churches and families participating by conducting twice yearly roadside clean-ups.Â

Six Lower Saucon Township roads are still available for adoption by organizations or families.
The township supplies each adopting organization’s volunteers with a safety orientation and equipment including gloves, litter grabbers and trash bags.
The township is also responsible for the collection and disposal of the trash bags that are filled by volunteers.
In recognition of their efforts, permanent blue metal signs are erected along each adopted road with the adopting group’s name printed in white.
