One Killed in Fatal Allentown Barbershop Stabbing, Arrest Made

An Allentown man is charged with homicide in a stabbing at an Allentown barbershop Thursday.

A 43-year-old Allentown mad has been arrested for stabbing another man to death in a barbershop on Hamilton Street in Allentown Thursday afternoon, police said.

Eugenio Hernandez-Andino is accused of stabbing and killing Jose Reyes-Espinosa, 30, inside the Washington Barbershop, located at 1129 Hamilton Street, around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, according to The Morning Call. Reyes-Espinosa was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 3:57 p.m., the newspaper said.

Reyes-Espinosa was reportedly getting a haircut when Hernandez-Andino walked into the shop and an argument ensued. Reyes-Espinosa tried leaving the shop, but an altercation with Hernandez-Andino occurred, during which Reyes-Espinosa was stabbed multiple times by Hernandez-Andino, The Morning Call reported.

A warrant for the arrest of Hernandez-Andino was issued by Allentown Police on Thursday and he was arrested later that night, The Morning Call said.

Hernandez-Andino was arraigned on Friday morning and returned to Lehigh County Jail. He is being held without bail.
