SVHS's LEO Club Urges Support for South African Aid Organization

The Saucon Valley High School LEO Club's motto is "to serve," and members of the club are doing just that by spearheading fundraising on behalf of an organization that assists impoverished children in South Africa.
The Masinyusane nonprofit organization was co-founded by Saucon Valley alumnus Jim McKeown, according to a news release.
"Masinyusane provides children in the poorest of areas in South Africa with the opportunity to learn and flourish," the release said. "The staff at Masinyusane works hard to provide many children with food, clothing and love that are much needed... Without Masinyusane, many of these children would not be empowered with hope, opportunity and the resources to have a better life."

To support new and existing businesses.
Members of the LEO Club are raising donations themselves, and also encouraging members of the greater Saucon Valley community to consider doing their part to support the children by making a donation via the Masinyusane website.Â
"A donation as small as the price of two coffees can feed a family for two weeks in South Africa," the news release said. "Please help us make a difference in the lives of these children by contributing to the success of this organization."
The LEOÂ Club's name is an acronym for "Leadership, Experience and Opportunity."
This club started in October and has already performed community outreach by helping at a breakfast for seniors, assisting with the distribution of canned goods for families in need and volunteering with the local Lions club.
