Toddler Kissed By Mother Before Being Thrown From Bridge In Allentown Honored At Memorial Service

Zymeir Perry-Franklin was only 20-months old when his 19-year-old mother dropped him off a 52-foot bridge.

A 19-year-old mother threw her 20-month-old son from a bridge in Allentown before leaping over the edge herself on May 3, according to police.

At Thursday’s memorial service, the family of toddler Zymeir Perry-Franklin remembered a child that loved cartoons and loved eating sandwiches.

Zymeir’s mother, Johnesha M. Perry, 19, also leapt from the 52-foot bridge that night, but was not killed, hobbling to shore. She now faces homicide charges, police said.

At the memorial service, the family underlined the importance of never forgetting Zymeir’s short life.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin said that he found one thread of hope that the brave toddler left behind, the Morning Call reports:

“If there is anything else that can be said to be a positive from this sad event, it is that organs of Zymeir have been harvested and perhaps will help to save some other child’s life,” he said.

Although he may gone, Zymeir can still help other children enjoy their cartoons and their sandwiches.
