Looking for a place to live? There are plenty of places in Pennsylvania where you can get a good bang for your buck, according to Niche.com.

There are plenty of places where you can get a good bang for your housing buck in Pennsylvania. One market researcher has outlined a number of places that offer the best value.

Niche.com has composed its latest list of best places to buy a house in Pennsylvania, ranking them based on home values, property taxes, home ownership rates, housing costs, and real estate trends. The ranking is derived from data from the U.S. Census, FBI, and other data sources.

One community, Houserville, an unincorporated section of Centre County that's just outside of the Penn State campus, made the national list. But there are plenty of places that offer the right balance between safety and affordability - even if each of them deals with some of the same issues affecting many communities across the United States.

Even the reviews seem to strike some balance. Houserville, according to one review in the survey, "seems to get swallowed up by the college students in it. It seems to be about the only thing this town is known for which, to me as a person who grew up here, is sad."

But Houserville also has people who "are very friendly and willing to help," according to the survey.
