Barstool Sports To Fund Montco Dance Studio Amid Pandemic
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy called the local studio's owner to tell her she'd been selected to receive the special funding.

BLUE BELL, PA — A Montgomery County dance studio is the recipient of a special COVID-19 relief package put together by Barstool Sports and Philadelphia Flyers center Kevin Hayes.
Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool, called Susie Anhorn of Blue Bell's Phoenix Arts to congratulate her with the news.
"This is unbelievable," Anhorn said. "I could never have imagined our studio to be chosen for this amazing fund Dave and BarStool Sports are doing. I’m so humbled, shocked, speechless, and so much more."

Portnoy told Anhorn that Hayes had given him a $50,000 donation and asked him to find a deserving small business in the greater Philadelphia area.
"You're one of the first that his money will go right to," he told her.

In a video applying for the grant and explaining how the pandemic impacted her studio, Anhorn said that once the outbreak started, her studio lost around 50 families. She added that they'd continued to give scholarships as holiday presents to as many families as they could, but it wasn't enough.
"This is my life I've built for the last 11 years," said Anhorn, a Conshohocken native. "This is the place where kids feel consistency, confidence, they learn patience, and bravery...We're still keeping our doors open to help anyone we can in the community...but we could really use your help."
Portnoy said that Anhorn's business was the exact type of establishment they were hoping to support.
